Great advice from Aussie Matt Skinner sommelier at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant, on the BBC Food website:

“Don’t pay too much attention to labels. Big wine companies pay marketers millions of pounds to get people to buy their wine purely from the label. Also it’s not worth paying much attention to the back of the label as it will not tell you if it’s bad wine.”

His book, The Juice, is available from November in Auustralia from Hardie Grant Books (A$19.95).
