Melbourne food bloggers unite

by Ed

I’ve just added the breakfast blog to this list and realised I duplicated What I Cooked last Night/Very Good Cooking.
I’d send out an email, but I suppose this is the way to do it on the blogspere. I’ll see if I get a response this way first. I’ve noticed that the Sydney bloggers and English bloggers get together for a munch and a natter. How about a get together of Melbourne foodbloggers. let’s nominate a new cafe/restaurant/bar within easy reach of everyone and meet for a chat and even blog a review of the joint.

Pass it on…

Who’s in? Here is my list of Melbourne bloggers:

A Few of my Favourite Things

Cat on a Bench

Esurientes

Kitchen on Clarendon

My Favourite Plum

Lycee Rose & Peaches

The Breakfast Blog

What I Cooked Last Night

If I’ve missed anybody leave a comment.

There’s also “The Breakfast Blog”, which I only discovered yesterday. Being a reviewer of the best breakfast cafes in Melbourne, he might have a good suggestion for a meeting place!

Excellent! Shall add it.

that sounds like a great idea, Ed. I’ve been thinking about it as well but just hadn’t gotten around to it – always a good excuse! – but I’m glad to hear that someone else is interested.

Great stuff! I’ll wait for a few more posts and propose a date. Any ideas for a venue?

I posted earlier but I think the computer ate it. A meetup sounds lovely but I’ll be heading out of town for a while so I might have to wait until the next one.

Hi Plum when are you back. No fixed date yet.

Cin October 28, 2005 at 11:56 pm

umm, limeleaves at QV is pretty good and they have long communal tables. haven’t been to wagamama but that may be fun too.

Ed Charles October 29, 2005 at 7:49 am

Don’t know Limeleaves but I do know Wagamama which I think has forgoten about to food to make money by franchising itself. Chocolate Buddha is much better and does have communal tables. Saying that, I’m easy going…

hi tomatom,

sounds good – any chance it can be post-nov 11? no money or time until uni exams are over!

let me know . . .

p.s. it is cat on ‘the’ bench, this cat doesn’t sit on any old bench!

Ed Charles November 2, 2005 at 6:49 pm

How about Tuesday 15th or Thursday 17th of November. 7pm? I’ll send out a round robin email soon.

Cin November 4, 2005 at 7:18 pm

I’m up for Tues 15th! Where to?

Cin November 4, 2005 at 7:18 pm

btw, will significant others be invited too?

Ed Charles November 6, 2005 at 4:06 pm

I’ve no problems with significant others. I’ve been sent a $50 vocuher for the new Wagamama in the CBD. I’ll throw that into the right and we could try that out. 15th suits me.

Just seen the date now. Sorry, I can’t make it. Going to La Traviata in which my bf is performing then, and have a rehearsal for a cantata on the Thursday night.
Is there a possibility of a group email and some date a few weeks in the future next time? I’d love to come, but get booked up with rehearsals and concerts pretty early, especially this time of year!

Jamie November 13, 2005 at 10:59 pm

Just caught up with this discussion, sorry… bit slow. I’m happy to join in, assuming we can manage the logistics of all this.

If it’s dinner, then I defer to those wiser than myself. If we go for brunch, on the other hand, I am happy to throw a few ideas on the table. JW
