I was wrong. A copy of The Age Good Food Guide was not burnt by a chef but a certificate, former editor Roslyn Grundy tells me. I don’t know why I wrote that in my story in The Bulletin/Newsweek . Perhaps my subconscious preferred the legend to the reality.
