Warming up for Sunday breakfast meme

Just warming-up the new Ricoh for Andrew at Spittoon Extra’s breakfast meme. Saturday morning at ikea. I was ready to be apaled. Two sausages, two hash browns, bacon (I avoided the spongy looking scrambled egg), tomato and beans plus an orange juice and a pretty good long black for AUD6. That’s about £2.50. And it was better than many hotels I’ve stayed in. I’m impressed.

Let’s not forget the flat white. Delicious but sloppy with dribbles down the side of both our cups.

Later Jackie is demanding croque monsieur at Il Fornaio, 2 Acland St, St Kilda, Vic.

A donut arrives. After I remind them about it.

It’s Jammy.

I think one week I will blog eating lunch there everyday.

Ah, yes, the Ikea breakfast loss-leader… feed up cheap, then buy a few billy bookcases you didn’t need. Brilliant strategy.

And I must say you chose very wisely by dodging the scambled “egg” concoction. Powered eggs very likely. Quite nasty. The rest of the Ikea fry-up is the way to go. I like the idea of the Morgan Spurlock 30 days at Ikea cafe… would make great TV.

Thanks for arranging the Melbourne food-blogger FTF yesterday… great to meet you and the others.

Cheers,
JW

Oops… typo-city. I meant “scrambled” eggs, and “powdered” eggs.

Good to meet you too Jamie. The real pain about doing the Morgan Spurlock 30 days at Ikea Cafe (does that mean 60 meals? Maybe I could slip in an early supper and make it 90) is the bloody drive there and back from St Kilda.
