At least I can say that this shot wasn’t taken with the new whizz bang camera. Everything is wrong here. The eggs that cracked, the lighting. Why is the pan on that horrible looking (athough practical) green Ikea chopping board. What’s the glass doing in the background? The question I ask myself is: what were the circumstances of the shot? Was I drunk, hungover or under some sort of radical medication?
Ah, I remember now I was making a Tuna Tartare and was planning to plonk a poached egg on top.
The truth is that I wasn’t paying attention. I was concentrating on blogging on the laptop and even confused poached with boiled eggs, which not only looked a dog’s breakfast but actually were the dogs’ breakfast the next morning.
As for the Tartare it was wonderful. I chopped the tuna finely with my sharpest knife, mixing in chopped capers, green peppercorns, mustard, soy salt, pepper and diced Tomato (with pips removed). I sliced a radish and arranged it on top and served with Sweet Potato chips – simply chopped up, miseed with a drop of olive oil and roasted in the oven for perhaps 20 minutes.
The phot is bad in a more mediocre sort of way.
