Third time lucky with Pouilly-Fuissé

Yes, the second bottle of the AUS40 Pouilly-Fuisse that Jackie chose as part of a mixed dozen was also corked. Third time lucky we opened it in the shop to taste and I nearly choked.
This was an expensive bottle with all the class and acid of a cheap Muscadet.
The lesson is to avoid French wine unless you know what you are doing. As it is her birthday tomorrow I offered to swap her glass for a glass of a $8 (from Dan Murphy’s) Yalumba Y series Viognier. What a stupid wate of money. The Puilly Fuissé not the viognier.
