Feeling a bit rough? Painted the kitchen red?
This is the ultimate cure.
The bitter herbs of Campari have astoningly good medicinal qualities. It must be true my mother told me.
Drink with a little soda or sparkling mineral water and a slice of orange.
For the true cure don’t dilute too much. It’s meant to be bitter.
If it’s that bad have one more, before moving on. White, red, grappa…

Food facist:

1. it must be a slice of orange, not lemon.

2. Bitter means better.

3. Don’t even think about adding orange juice or lemonade? Forgeddaboutit. Some cocktails are OK.

4. I f you can’t take it try a childs drink: Baileys or Absolut Raspberry* Vodka. immeditely leave this site and never return.

* Yes, it really is that bad, Absolut has jumped the shark. Stick to premium vodka and you shouldn’t need Campari.

I reckon the best drink on a hot day is neat Campari on ice, lots of ice. Also some premium vodkas are not as premium as others. When looking for some vodka for a batch of mulberry liquer I was making, I noticed some premium brands were a bit cheaper than usual. On closer examination it turned out the alcohol content was a bit less than usual. You get what you pay for.

It is very god on a hot day. I think it’s the bitterness on the parched palate that hits the mark. Mulberry liquor sounds good. My mother used to do something similar with raspberries. I reckon the best premium vodka is 42 Below. God alcohol content, made with a special still which means less impurities. Have you tried it?

If you’ve left then why are you reading this? What’s your sin Cin? Bailys I guess. I’ve been there to in a weak moment but I think I now may be OK.

God on a hot day? Only after drinking tequila. No I haven’t tried 42 below, we stick to the Polish vodkas, despite what the Russians say, these guys invented the stuff.

Forgot to mention, I’m doing a list over ar my site, check it out.

Polish vodkas are great but even anthony Bourdain can’t resist the purity of premium vodkas which produce a hangover which is much easier to manage.

I think with all the distillation the premiums go through, they lose a bit of character, sure they’re a smooth drink, but where is their soul? As to the hangover, there is always hueveros rancheros.

Campari or vodka? Both. Make a regular Campari and soda with the orange, then add a splash of vodka. I prefer Wyborova but whatever. It adds a smooth potency and will jump up and bite you if you’re not careful. Yum. Try it after dark, not out in the sunshine!

tankeduptaco: Fraid its smooth every time. I’m never quite that desperate to drink the rough stuff. The only character and soul codka has is the fact that it is hard alcohol. So youmay as well take out the toxins and enjoy the next morning.

Kitchen hand: Wodka and Campari sounds worth a try. BTW it wasn’t your bottle of Wyborova dumped in my street last weekend?
