There’s not too much time for Weekend Herb Blogging this weekend with the kick-off of the World Cup Football (and FIFA Beer World Cup at this site) and the Queen’s Birthday Weekend.
While Kalyn in Salt Lake city is freezing basel, in Melbourne (Australia) we are just freezing with a shroud of mist hanging over the city. This week, however, WHB is being hosted by Sweetnicks of dog blogging and Stickydate fame. Her recap will be published Monday (US time).
This is the official kick-off to the local ski season although so far all the snow (which is 3 hours away) is artificial.
What I’m looking for is some light refreshment between matches and tastes of beer. The problem for us is that the games kick-off at 2am in the morning and our new orange tree that I thought last week was looking sad isn’t looking too bad.
Insects attacked two which remain the size of peas. But three have ripened, one covered with bird shit. I’ll give that one to an unsuspecting mate.
Now for the winter wine grazing weekend (if I have the energy)…

It does sound like you’re having fun with the world cup. All those countries, each with its own beer!
Actually, I’m feeling a bit bloated and am falling dreadfully behind. Have you ever tried to find beer from the Coté D’Ivoire? So I’m cheating a bit!
