Every year an embarrassment of new waters launches including recently, one with a miniture magazine atached. I once even read a damp copy of this mag, called iLove. That was the edn of the affair.
Now we have Another Bloody Water. I discovered it on Sunday night at a Bingo fundraiser for the St Kilda Surf Lifesaving Club.
I actually read all 300 words or so of copy on the back. Very funny. And even better when four bottles arrive with a press release Monday morning.
But I have to ask; do we need another bloody (expensive at $1.50 for 600ml in shops; more in cafés) water? Probably not.
Do we need more humour in product names and copywriting? Yes, and they have filled that gap.
I’m told the three guys with the big brains behind this product are a local food distributor, graphic designer and ad guy.
Bloody good luck to them. They deserve it.
The taste? Do you really care? It’s water.

As you say, great name but who cares? It is only water. I suppose it’s better than the bush flower essence infused ‘bottled stupidity’ out there for even more bucks a bottle. Or the other scam where ostensibly the water comes oxygen-enriched, which is what happens to your blood when you yawn reading about it.

My preference is O18 water (in which I have no financial interest) but at least it’s water from fruit which doesn’t put pressure on limited ground water supplies and is the most environmentally friendly water around. It also seems to be refreshing, maybe because of the slightly lower pH from the fruit acids.

Bloody try it and see for yourself.

Hi Vic, I’ve heard about 018 but haven’t seen it in the shops – I’ll make an effort to look out for it. Cheers.

Pressure on limited ground water supplies… That is hilarious. Maybe we should drink less water, yeah. Genius!
(How do you think the water gets into the fruit? Yes Vic, from the tree.)
I’m off for a really really long shower.
