Laurie/JenJen, yes the spelling mistakes are a great indicator. But bearing in mind my own performance on this blog I'm not throwing stones at that one quite yet.

Alex, good one to add. What are these restaurants on about.

your list made me laugh. I just went to a place that served "Balmail Stir Fry", I assumed they meant Balmain.
It was only a casual eatery/take away place. But still, you expect them to at least know how to spell the suburb they're in.

The best indicator of an annoying restaurant is, for me, when the waiter asks you, "So, do you know how it works here?" As if you've never been to a restaurant before...which is the point, I guess, because inevitably there's some cute menu or ordering process that follows this question. Ugh.

And remember the spelling mistakes...

Even in civilization, ie Canada, I've seen far too many menus with more typos on a page than I have fingers and toes. Guess what? If they can't be bothered to proofread their menus, they probably can't be bothered to make sure the ingredients are fresh or the dish tastes good.

Worst spelling mistake? Here in Sri Lanka, Chainees Restaurant for the name. Think about it for a moment... :D

Cheers mamaduck. That's a good idea doing a list of favourite posts. i must do one soon.

Tim, yes advertising is a bit desperate.

Kylie, I don't know how I could have forgotten that. Ihave the pics and will post about that after the shortlist is announced next week.

Nuggets 8/18/06

After posting my list of Top Seven Cuts of Meat You Can't Screw Up On the Grill, I went back through the entire list of list submissions sent to Darren Rowse's ProBlogger.net. Lots of submissions about blogging, making money, search engine optimization...

Excellent list.

I tend to avoid any restaurant that advertises.
