Updated 20.3.07 and hopefully all links working. Any missing please let me know.

I think this list of 42 is fairly comprehensive but inevitably there are a couple of local food blogs lurking out there that I haven’t found. There are many more local food blogs out there but they haven’t been updated for months or years.

When I started blogging in July 2005 there were barely 30 food blogs locally. Now there are about 100 active ones in Australia.

If I missed anybody, please let me know. Aslso please let me know if there are any broken links - some weird things were happening as I posted.

Fantastic!! Definately what I need… more sources to discover tasty cuisines in this fine food town we call Melbourne.

I’m so thankful to know that I’m definately NOT alone when it comes to being a foodie.

I love the comment about two points off for Stephen Downes. I think about him every time I’m confronted with paper napkins.

Thank you for the mention, Ed. Especially since my blog is not as sophisticated as some one could mention. Just trying to preserve some home cooking well done - and trying to get the handwritten and clipped recipes into a more lasting form.

Brilliant list! Was that in this week’s Herald Sun?

My sentiments exactly, Miss Eagle. Thanks for mentioning my simple blog.

I started my blog not so long ago as a way of presenting my recipes, and I am thrilled any time it rates a mention. Thank you!

Thanks Ed for mentioning our little blog (flagrant food fawnings) too!!! It’s a pretty basic little blog but we got inspired by all the fantastic foodie blogs out there and also wanted to have a stab at celebrating the great meals we’ve eaten and/or prepared. Thanks again! I can’t tell you how chuffed we were with the mention!

I figure the reason that Melbourne is the food bloggers capital of Australia is because we have the biggest selection of great eats in Australia. BTW Elegant Sufficiency was once the Editor of Epicure, and the blog is about their life and food, as are a few other listed food blogs, as is their want.
