Tumblers of red wine at The Italian Waiters’ Club

You couldn’t spot the Italian Waiters’ Club ( 20 Meyers Place, Melbourne +61 3 9650 1508). Luckily Meyers Place is quite small and the club is the only doorway opening onto narrow stairs. Climb the stairs and seat yourself at a wood effect formica tabletop and order some of the basic food. The main attraction here is the price and the lively crowd.
I don’t know whether we looked a thirsty couple of chaps but check out the tumblers of red wine at $5.50 each. Antipasta $10.

Is it just me or is the pasta at the waiters club no longer great value for the price? I wasn’t too impressed on my last visit although the tumblers of wine get my thumbs up… then again generous servings of wine always do! ;)
