Tumblers of red wine at The Italian Waiters’ Club
You couldn’t spot the Italian Waiters’ Club ( 20 Meyers Place, Melbourne +61 3 9650 1508). Luckily Meyers Place is quite small and the club is the only doorway opening onto narrow stairs. Climb the stairs and seat yourself at a wood effect formica tabletop and order some of the basic food. The main attraction here is the price and the lively crowd.
I don’t know whether we looked a thirsty couple of chaps but check out the tumblers of red wine at $5.50 each. Antipasta $10.

Is it just me or is the pasta at the waiters club no longer great value for the price? I wasn’t too impressed on my last visit although the tumblers of wine get my thumbs up… then again generous servings of wine always do!
We didn’t get to pasta but moved on for some fabulous sushimi. i suppose I need to go back and try it.
