My new favourite! I now believe the best pho I have tried in Melbourne is from Pho Hung in Springvale! Incredible soup, better than anything I have tried in Richmond!

My favourite that I've tried in Melbourne is Hung Vuong in Footscray. I spent nearly 2 months in Vietnam and this is pretty close to the Pho there.
Love my pho salty and add lots of hoisin :) (Back in Vietnam it was MSG by the spoonful by the people serving us!!)

Hey Ed, I'd love to give u a top 5 but I feel I still need to check out a few places. I have yet to do the Richmond scene and I know there's plenty of places there. I only wanna list places I think actually stand out from the others. I'm actually at pho toan right now in Preston checking out there quality, they actually took very long to take my order but I'm yet to taste the pho. And the other night I checked out pho dzung just a couple doors down from here and was very impressed with the taste. But let me check out the Richmond scene first and I'll get back to u on my top 5. Cheers Ed

Hi Pho Hunter,

Can you give us your top 5? Maybe we could do a guest post on it, otherwise in comments would be useful.

I'm suprised no one has mentioned the pho places in Box Hill. There's at least 5 places in box hill, all within walking distance of one another. 888, tIen dat, tan tan, ahn ahn I think some of them are called. But the king of the mountain for sure is Indochine! Indo is never not busy! And is often a full house so u have to wait if your unlucky. If u don't want to wait there's plenty more pho just a hundred metres down the road. But Indochines pho is worth the wait. I've have pho any chance I get at any place. But everytime I go to Indochine I remember why it's the best! It has more taste and flavour going on than any other place I've been. Keep in mind Indo is not a pho house like most places, but an actual Vietnamese restaurant. I've never really had any mains besides pho but I assume the other stuff is good too judging by the busy crowds. I've never seen a place so busy for lunch AND dinner, so all these people can't be wrong. Indochine pho for life!
