I got an email from Taco Bills a month or so ago, saying to vote for them on the Lifestyle Channel awards. In exchange, I believe they would give you a discount on food or an opportunity to eat free when the Lifestyle Channel came to film them. Something along those lines…My memory isn’t too good.
I actually rate their frozen margaritas…don’t know about the rest of it though, more like someones, who has never been there, idea of Mexican food, rather than the real deal. Follows the formula religiously. Perhaps the Mexican soccer team was in town.
From the other Neil.
I think it’s hysterical, when I saw the list I couldn’t stop laughing. Talk about bad marketing backfiring! Someone at Foxtel must have egg on the proverbial, it’s undermined their position as a food media authority.
I saw this and near fell about laughing!!!
You can bet the excrement has hit the Brivus over at Foxtel!!!
Do you think Bender looks uncomfortable in the promo shots? I think after all that Taco Bill he’s got a case of Montezuma’s revenge?
Gobbler, you bet Bender looks uncomfortable. And PG/Sticky somebody gonna have to bender over and take it I reckon.
Neil One, thanks for the tip. neil 2 I may call them and perhaps I’ll get a story for the HUn and a free margarita to boot. Cheers.
You’ve got to be kidding me.
I used to have a few mates who worked the Taco Bill in the city (off Bourke St) and the shit they told me about was…well. Lets just say fresh produce isn’t number one on their agenda. I agree with Neil, the frozen margaritas aren’t half bad (other then the fact you could drown in the big glasses if you really wanted to) but the rest of the food I’ve tried there really wasn’t anything spesh.
Okay guys, just back from Taco Bill, feel rather bloated and have the pics. The Margaritas are at the sweet end.
OMG You did it! Probably just the thing after an afternoon of ‘Goats’.
I agree with Stickyfingers - it definately cuts the list on ‘when marketing goes bad’ Unfortunately it doesn’t make the Lifestyle Channel look too credible. I haven’t ever eaten at a Taco Bill as they’re not on the Gold Coast but I’m keen to try out a frozen margarita when I’m next in Sydney!
OK people, I am not a forum poster, or a whinger in general, but I have something to say…
I just bought (takeaway) Taco Bill for tea. It was quite literally the worst food I have ever seen or eaten in my life. It was like something from another planet.
It was chicken enchiladas and it looked like tinned tuna. the cheese was the most processed rubbish you’ve ever seen in your life, I can’t even do justice to how unbelivably BAD this trash was!
And it cost $18 AUD !
I feel cheated, I feel like this company should be sued for false advertising, as I wouldn’t feed their “food” to my pet!
