Mint julep 1806 Bugger! Just as I decide to drink the menu at 1806 in the city I decide to join the Febfast challenge as part of my frugal February. The idea is that give give up booze for a whole month and people – you perhaps – sponsor me  with the money going to [...]

Check out the latest blogger review of Attica. Judi from Cakestorm won the Tuesday night Chef’s Table in the Menu of Hope Raffle. The interesting thing about Tuesday nights is you’ll get a chance to taste the dishes that chef Ben Shewry has in development. Read Judi’s review.

Spanish chef Frank Comorra is a laugh. When he sent me a copy of his sell out Movida cookbook he signed it as the CEO of Ikea. He’d read by blogpost where I’d complained Movida didn’t conform to the stereotypical Spanish restaurant and owed more to the Swedish superstore than dark oak, Pablo Picasso or [...]

But the food is much, much better in Service Included: Four-Star Secrets of an Eavesdropping Waiter. It gives an insiders account of the opening of [...]

The Lakehouse in Daylesford is a big supporter of local produce and should be commended for the work its work in the region to develop them. It features them on its menu and many other restaurants could learn from the example. It will be showcasing local producers throughout the gardens, orchard and Terrace Room on Sunday 10 February. The [...]
