I've been there many times since its opening in 2008. I never noticed any dogs (there might have been a few, though, but I didn't notice them), the coffee was always perfect, and on top the food always excellent. You should have mentioned that. And taken a nicer picture...

Stumbled upon Nineteen Squares in April when visiting my sister in Melbourne. The food options were great for a quick bite at 3pm, and we sat outside on the same table and little stools. Coffees and hot chocolate were great, and the guy was very friendly and efficient. I fell in love with the little recycled bottles of brown sugar - but that's probably because I live in Adelaide and we're about 5 years behind Melbourne's cafe culture. There were a couple of dog owners there too at the time, come to think of it.
